Contribution

We donate RM 1 from each person especially day trippers having lunch or in house guest staying at Abai Jungle Lodge to Abai Homestay Development Fund(AHDF),we use the money to upgrade the homestay at Abai Village by buying toilet pedestal , grass cutter machine, Vegetable seed, mattress, pillow, bed sheet, blanket, mineral water, school bag, uniform etc…. ..

To support our Eco Tourism programme, we often bought local products from the villagers such as fresh water prawn (udang galah), fresh water fish (Marble Goby) or locally known as Ikan Ubi.

From our record started from July 2004 to Dec 2009 RM 29,273.00 goes to AHDF, RM 59,298.00 to buy fresh water prawn, RM 68,703.00 for fresh water fish to the villagers.

“Tree planting project and lunch with Villagers” are the new project design by the company to help the villagers by paying RM 25.00p.p.This project was monitor by Amy Chin to ensure all the villagers get benefit from it.

The company had been paid RM 55,733.00(Feb 07 ~ Dec 09) to the villagers for their tree planting, lunch, Homestay and culture performance.

Our Project AHDF ended Dec 2009, we manage to collect RM 29,273.00, we will kept the balance for future use to upgrade the Abai Homestay.

Sept 2008, 2 boats with 15HP Honda Four stroke engine had been contributed to the homestay people, i believe this will help the villagers a lot especially their tour activities.  

Feb 2009, The company contributed 1 more fiberglass boats with YAMAHA engine 85HP X 2 units especially for them transfer guests from Sandakan to their homestay.

Dec 2009, To make sure The Abai Homestay can provide better services to their guests, we supplied them another 20 sets new mattresses, pillows, bed sheets, blankets, Mosquito nets, All of this including all the linens will be kept and wash by S.I.Tours after every use. We have also printed 5000 copies of leaflets for the Abai Homestay for their marketing.

Apart from it, The company also organized competition “The Most Beautiful House” in this village, with this, the villagers are aware on tourism and cleanliness.

Therefore, the company of S.I.Tours would like to thank to everyone who participated for making this project successfully and hope to work closely with the government sector/agents by promoting this new destination to the world.

In year 2002, first meeting with locals at Abai Village

In November 2006, we meet again to discuss about our future planning for locals, tree planting project and benefits for the locals.

The 1st year competition - The Most Beautiful House at Abai Village on 23 September 2005. Cash prize from RM500, RM300, RM200, RM100 and RM50 each household.

The 2nd year competition - The Most Beautiful House at Abai Village on 24 September 2006. Cash prize from RM1,000, RM500 and RM300.


 
S.I.Tours Scholarship Program Sponsor cash RM1,500 for air ticket & registration fee at UITM, Kuala Lumpur on 2 Jan 2007 for Ms Noraini Binti Tahir from Abai Village.
